Horse and Camel Trekking

There is no better way to explore the vast wilderness areas of Mongolia than on the back of an animal.

The horses here in Mongolia are short, stocky and very strong. They tend to be left semi wild for about 6 months of the year and are worked and ridden for the other six.

The camels are semi domesticated Bactrian camels, left behind from the days of the silk road.

We work very closely with our horse and camel wranglers to ensure you recieve the correct animal to ride.

You don't have to be an expert to be able to experience horse/camel trekking. In fact we think that those who have never been on a horse before take to it more easily than regular riders, the reason being that here we don't use the rising trot.

Horse and camel treks can take place just about anywhere in Mongolia. We reccommend Arkhangai & Hovsgol for horse trekking and The Altai & Gobi for camel trekking.
