I would have thought it was high time that this council was disbanded?

Having read about the rows and quarrelling  that have taken place within the Blaenhonddan Community Council of late. I would have thought that it was high time that it was disbanded and let the people of Bryncoch decide in an election what sort of council they want?

I have read for months now of the clash of personalities and politics within the council.  The way in which it has been seen to be run so far, even now at this present time, appears to me to be of a very juvenile nature and I am sure that the residents of the community  it represents must be feeling a major degree of embarrassment to say the least  and so must some of the councillors when they read about themselves in the press like they have?

It was only some weeks ago I read that the council had taken a vote to agree to put a ban on any member of the council from referring to council business outside of the meetings and to refrain from talking to the press. This motion would include the clerk? But it would appear that the clerk herself is taking no notice of that vote or ban?

The clerk seems to be spending a lot of her time writing into the press and condemning everyone but her self for doing exactly what she is doing. I have seen no evidence of late, of any letters written by or from any other council members. Not that I have seen anyway?

While sitting in Neath market about two weeks ago enjoying a coffee. I could not help but over hear two men talking about various members of the Blaenhonddan council, including the clerk. I was really astonished to hear one of them state, that the amount of money received by the clerk for wages, expenses and office running costs amounted to approximately £35,000 thousand pounds per year???  I do not know if this figure is correct. But if it is?. I can well understand the statement made by the clerk in last weeks local weekly press. As stated, it went on to read, "Overseeing a small, well controlled budget. The council is endeavouring to maximise full use of the community centres and actively seek outside funding to enable the council to raise the standard of playgrounds" .....  and so on?

I can well understand the part of the sentence now. Where it said "oversee a small budget" It had been reported in earlier press editions that the council sometimes have to struggle with finance, it is of no surprise to me. If the figure the clerk receives is true? It is no wonder they have only a small amount of money to struggle with?  That is if the figure I heard is incorrect?

I am sure that someone will write in to me and correct me or deny it?  But if it is true? Well the sooner they hold an election, vote in a new council and amend to a more realistic figure the money it costs to keep a clerk the better. Then there may be a little more money to spend in the community?
