A sad day. Not just for Linda Ware, but for us all?
Sadly, I have just read the press release of a hearing under the Aarhus convention at the Supreme Court costs office (22/09/2009).
Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council –Vs—Linda Ware.
Sadly but very bravely, Linda has agreed to an out of court settlement in favour of our megalomaniac and dictatorial Neath Port Talbot County Borough council.
Linda did this just to make sure that the despicable bunch of lawyers employed by the council to supposedly represent them in law did not spend or waste any more of the public’s money?
These are the people who are responsible for spending thousands of pounds of council tax payers money, just to pursue a court case, which not one of them had the ability to represent the council in the court. They had to go and spent thousands of pounds of public money on Barristers just to satisfy their own egos and those of the council? Just to chase and bully a poor pensioner who has had the guts to stand up and fight against them for her own rights and those rights of the people of Cilfrew. Linda Ware fought for a right that this council should have supported, not fought against like they did. This council are now shamed badly in the eyes of the public!
But sadly this dictatorial Labour led council. Led of late, by Derik (Piggy) Vaughan (Now MEP. (Higher and better wages and expenses in that job of course?)) and currently led by Ali (BaBa) Thomas, they all saw fit to go against the wishes of the majority of people they are supposed to represent and saw fit to fight against the wishes of the public and force on to the people of the village of Cilfrew; what could now be a future death sentence? By allowing planning permission for the building of a gas pressure reduction station, all to be built within 600 metres of the village where these people live. Knowing full well what could happen in the near or distant future?
But sadly this dictatorial Labour led council. Led of late, by Derik (Piggy) Vaughan (Now MEP. (Higher and better wages and expenses in that job of course?)) and currently led by Ali (BaBa) Thomas, they all saw fit to go against the wishes of the majority of people they are supposed to represent and saw fit to fight against the wishes of the public and force on to the people of the village of Cilfrew; what could now be a future death sentence? By allowing planning permission for the building of a gas pressure reduction station, all to be built within 600 metres of the village where these people live. Knowing full well what could happen in the near or distant future?
This planning application appears in some ways to be so important to the council to approve? It may make one ask the question. Was any influence or pressure applied to the council or their planning department, by higher government or its officials, or even the applicant? Who knows? I do not suppose that we shall ever hear the truth of it or how much public money was truthfully spent?
After reading the report it would appear to me that this is a positive sign that this council are nothing but dictatorial and do not care a damn about the people it represents, just as long as these labour led councillors can fill their wallets with their grossly overpaid wages and expenses from out of the public purse? As for what should be done with the barrack room lawyers? I leave to my reader’s imagination!!
Well done Linda, for going as far as you have against them. At least you were genuine and fought for a right that you believed in and which was the truth for you and for the people of your village.
In conclusion, I ask everybody in the county borough of Neath and Port Talbot to remember the way this poor lady and these people from Cilfrew have been treated by this inexcusable council. Who are now indirectly responsible for forcing a poor pensioner to pay them the sum of £9-75 a week out of her old age pension for the next fourteen years! Please consider this and who you next vote for, when voting in the next County Borough election when it comes around.
It appears to me after reading the said press release, that this bunch of megalomaniacal clowns that we have representing us at the moment seem to be of lower principles and morals than something I would scrape off the bottom of my boots after walking through a farmyard?
