A Police Matter

Has Our justice system has gone out of the window?

I read with astonishment how a police officer who of whom it is alleged, had driven his police car in excess of a 120 mph in very wet conditions by night and on the M4 motorway. He apparently lost control of the car while driving at a speed of 113 mph, the car left the road and flew through the air until it was forcibly parked in a tree? (In case he did not know it, it is what is known as and called aquaplaning. Most of the average drivers already know it can happen in wet conditions if you drive too fast).

It is reported that this policeman had only recently passed the police advanced driving course? (What was the driving examiner doing?)

It is alleged he had been stood down from an emergency call before he joined the motorway? If this was the case, why did he continue to proceed to the motorway at an increasingly high speed?

He claims he was looking for a place to shut of his blues and two's (Flashing Blue lights and two tone horns). Surely, if he had been stood down from the call he should have switched them off immediately. Especially with weather conditions as they were and driving by night? Those blue lights flash so brightly. They have been known to temporarily blind drivers and passengers due the intensive glare they produce, especially in the dark!

He was prosecuted in court and a sentence of imprisonment was passed on him. Plus a driving ban of two years?

I now read that he appealed against his punishment and his appeal was upheld. His sentence of imprisonment was reduced from five months to a fine of fifty pounds and his driving ban reduced from two years to three months?

After reading what I have. I can only come to one conclusion? He is obviously
not safe, nor should he be trusted to drive a police car again. He should not be allowed on the road again to possibly endanger the lives of other road users. For making such a decision. The appeal judges should be put in prison as well? If it had been any other motorist caught doing a speed of that magnitude. He or she would have had to complete a full sentence of imprisonment and would have been banned from driving for life?

I now know without a shadow of doubt. That there are two types of laws.

ONE LAW FOR THE POLICE AND ANOTHER LAW FOR THE MOTORIST

No one will ever convince me differently.
