Peter Hain MP - or comedian

Peter Hain. M.P. or comedian?

He has done it again! Page four of the Neath Guardian (25/6/2009) refers to comments of Peter Hain. Once again, clumsily trying to justify claims on his expenses from the fees office.

Not being satisfied with everyday standard quality goods? He has to purchase at the people's expense (not his own). Not one, but two Faux Leather luxury letter trays. Who does he try to impress? What I use, is a standard  grey metal letter tray with a wooden base, which I purchased at £1-50 with my own money. Quite adequate for use in the home or office?

We then go on to read that he paid £582 pounds for a fridge / freezer and £462 pounds for a dishwasher for his home in 2005? Everyone else has to buy theirs out of their own money. Why should we the people have to pay for his? There are some quite large Fridge/freezers available in the large electrical superstores. Ranging from £350 pounds upwards. So if it is necessary for the public to have to pay for it, why pay £582 pounds for one. When a cheaper one would do the same job? Is it to have the best of luxury at the taxpayers expense?

Also, there is the £462 pounds for a dishwasher? If he spends on average five working days in London. His time spent at home would not warrant the purchase of a dish washer or do we again pay out of the public purse to keep his family in luxury as well? But if the Hain's really need to have a dishwasher. Why don't they purchase it out of their own money, not ours? Perhaps they are afraid to get their hands wet. If that is the case? Have they not heard of rubber gloves? They are cheaper than dishwashers and would be more economically friendly towards the public purse.

If it was not so serious an issue. The best laugh of all would come when we get to the part of the purchase and moving to his new home! It is stated that he asks the fees office if he could claim mortgage interest re-payments on two of the  homes he owns in the Neath Valley?  But he was informed by the fees office that it was not possible and so he only submitted claims for the new property. Very Considerate him I must say? Then he wants to claim for the rewiring of the new home and other building works as well?  Plus his later extravagant claims for heating oil and a new roof for his log pile and due to the blackouts, goodness only knows what else he has claimed or tried to claim for?

At this point. Please excuse me while I take time to recover. As my ribs are now hurting from fits of laughter.

It then goes on to read, that Hain had made no claim for moving home from Resolven to Aberdulais. Nor did he make a claim to have his stamp duty and solicitors costs paid for him out of the public purse, despite his entitlement to do so? That seems very decent of him I must say. Does he expect us to applaud him?

So far, I must admit. That this comedy gets better and better. I think it would make tremendous material for writing a farce?

Mr Hain, when I bought my home. I paid for my own removal costs, I paid my own solicitors fees and made my own interest repayments out of my own pocket. Not anyone else's and  I had to work damned hard to be able to do it.  I did not claim or try to claim it off the back of others. Like you are doing?

When you were Minister of Work and Pensions. You did try quite rightly, to introduced measures to stop benefit fraud. These claims you make may not be fraudulent on your part? But in my eyes. You appear to be a bigger benefit scrounger than anyone else I have ever read about trying to claim off the various benefits systems.

Then we have (done for the convenience of M.P's) the blatant way in which the receipts that you and other M.P's have submitted to the fees office have been blacked out.  It just proves to me that you and most of the other scroungers, are about as transparent as a one inch thick, sheet of lead is to an X-Ray machine. Haven't any of you M.P's any shame at all?  It would not appear so?

With the economic situation of our country being in the state it is and the thousands of workers and families that are losing their jobs and their homes because of it?  It would seem that you do not care about other people at all? Just as long as you can claim as much money as you legally and possibly can from the public purse to live your lives in the luxury and comfort of your country mansion(s) and I suppose that those people that it is said, are owed more than one million pounds, including the taxman.     (H.M. Customs and Excise)  Can go and sit on their backsides with a begging bowl in their hands and beg for it?

M.P's in my opinion. Are grossly underworked and disgustingly overpaid for what they do. That also includes the contributions the public are forced to pay towards M.P's  pensions. Please try and prove me wrong if you can?

In conclusion. Mr Hain, we all know that you are aware of the website the  "Neath Ferret" and that you read it's on-line content, or that you are at least made aware of it!  If you should wish to refute any of my text.  Please, feel free to do so by contributing a letter to deny it, or at least to explain yourself and your actions. We as readers would all love to have sight of it.   Which is more than you have allowed us to see on your claims for expenses!!

After reading this. It would not surprise me to see him on the next series of
"BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT"
