The Playful Teacher is born

by Lisa says... - 17:55 on 26 November 2008

As Friday looms, I can't quite believe I'm going to get to listen to Sir Ken Robinson...live in concert in Exeter! Well, it's not quite like that, but, for me, the learning anorak that I am, it's the equivalent to the Rolling Stones (if you're into them). Anyway, suffice to say, I keep remembering what I'm up to on Friday and enjoying the feeling of anticipation and knowing that the day is pure food for my creative-learning soul.

 What a geek.

Also, am reading two books at the moment - started 'We-Think' by Charles Leadbetter - which reminds me that I need to put a link to his TED talk on here.  Also, thanks to Amazon, I'm now ploughing my way through Malcolm Gladwell's latest offering. It's very easy to read ( as one would expect) but has been slightly spoiled by the pre-release coverage the book has received, so it's a bit like having seen trailers for a film and realising that you've been shown a lot of the best bits. Anyway, never a disappointment as such, just not as surprising as Tipping Point (which blew me away) and I'm about to go back to it now. In terms of sparking more ideas and opportunities to adapt his messages to the world of learning - it's bountiful in its potential. So thank you, Mr Gladwell. It'll be interesting comparing it to SKR's book when it's out.

And finally...have come up with my brand...you are witnessing on this site the birth of "The Playful Teacher". At last, I have found an approriate channel through which my creative energies, thinking and practical strategies might flow and grow. I am celebrating with a new page...watch it grow!!!!

Question is - can I copyright it?!
