( 9.00 a.m. start )

 

The closing date for entries is the last Saturday in June

FORMAT: 

 

Main Competition for Arnallt Owen Commemorative Cup

Games will be 15 ends up to Semi Finals.

Semi Finals - 18 ends

Final 21 ends

 

Plate Competition

Games will be 15 ends up to the Final.

Final - 18 ends

 

Dress Code:

All games will be played in white/club tops plus white bowling shorts/trousers or club shorts/trousers

TOURNAMENT RULES

Each game shall be played in accordance with the laws of the game as set out by the World Bowls Board and Welsh Bowls.

The competition will be open to both male and female players to enter

Pairs do not need to be of the same gender

Games For the Arnallt Owen Memorial Cup will be of 15 ends duration up until the Semi Final which will be 18 ends and the Final 21 ends

All rounds of the Plate competition will be of 15 ends duration up until the Final which will be 18 ends  (Competitors in the plate competion will comprise those pairs that have lost their first game in the main competition. No substitution will be allowed)

 

There will be No Trial Ends before the commencement of each game

No substitution will be allowed after the first game played.

Dead Ends – A team causing a dead end to occur will forfeit the end and their opponents will be awarded 2 shots

No visits will be allowed to the head during each end

In the event of a tie after the prescribed number of ends, an extra end will be played.  The skips will toss a coin with the winner deciding whether to take the jack or give it to the opposition.  

All disputes that arise during games will be decided by the Umpire for the day

Any pair arriving more than 5 minutes late of their allocated playing start time will be withdrawn and their opponents put through to the next round of the competition

Smoking will not be allowed on the bowling green

No drinks are to be carried onto the playing surface of the green before, during or after play.

 

Compliance with Welsh Bowls’ code of conduct will be expected at all times.
