Deerhound Puppies

View the videos of my puppies playing

Evie's puppies now all have wonderful homes, you can see how they are all doing through Evie's page.  Please contact me if you are looking for a puppy and I will give you contact details of people who I know have puppies available.

Puppies pictured above at 10 weeks trying to persuade their mum that they are hungry and need more food.  (I can assure you that Evies eyes don't really glow like a demon!)

28th February 2010

The decent dry weather is continuing, and the pups are now enjoying laying in the warm sunshine, despite it being cold the sun has a lot of warmth in it and they are like little hot water bottles.

20th February 2010

The pups are now enjoying this spell of brilliant sunshine, albeit very cold and are enjoying exploring their limitations.

14th February 2010

Can you spot Evie squashed under the weight of the pups, she is still loving every minute and doesn't want to leave them at all yet, can't think she won't soon get fed up with them sharpening their teeth on her feet and ears and testing how far they can pull on her teat before it pings back!

She does have her own uses for them though and has decided they make a lovely soft cushion.

3rd February 2010

Mum and pups from my litter of deerhounds are doing well and continuing to thrive and increase in size and appetite.

9th January 2010

At long last we have a litter of pups, the last litter of deerhounds we had prior to this was in 2001, based on this the next should be 2019 - mmm!  Pups and mum all doing well so far.  Here are a couple of pictures, more details and pics will follow.

Evie has decided the pups make great cushions.

June 2009

Evie was mated and the longed for litter was due towards the begining of June.   Despite all the signs of being in whelp, the days passed by, the due date came and went, but no puppies arrived, Evie returned to her normal self, started running jumping and ambushing Merlin again and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about.  Never mind, next time !

Evie - please don't throw this chair away, it's my favourite!

Kerry and a very tiny Francesca

We are not commercial breeders.  Puppies may occassionally be available to very carefully selected homes.  Taking on a deerhound puppy is a big responsibility, as is finding suitable homes for them.  When our puppies go to their new homes we like to keep in touch with the new owner/family, offering help and advice throughout their whole life and in many cases we have become good friends with the new owners.

We joined the Deerhound Club in 1986 and since that time have bred 5 litters.  Champion Ardkinglas Krystal with her pups, born in 1994, aka the Krystallettes.

I sometimes have details of litters bred by other members of The Deerhound Club. Please contact me and I will pass your details on, although you will need to discuss with them your suitability and whether they do have a puppy available for you.  We are all very protective of our puppies and take great care in ensuring the best future possible for them - only the best is good enough.
