Peter Grant (1794-1845)

'Peter Grant Esq of Demerara', who married Jessy Falconar Macdonald in Inverness in 1840 [Inverness Courier, 30 Sep 1840] and died at Island Bank on 15 June 1845, was the son of Patrick Grant of Inverness, who died in the West Indies (possibly in Demerara) in 1808. Patrick. was the son of Rev George Grant, minister of Kirkmichael, Banffshire.

His widow, Jessy Falconar Macdonald, remarried in 1849, her second husband being Rev David Wilkie (1814-51), minister of the Free Church in Cromarty.
