North Lift Replacement    (NB add date)

The images below show the crane from the GSS Development's building site lifting the new north lift onto the Lothian House rooftop (thanks to James Brogan of McLaughlin Harvey for facilitating this, whilst access to Lothian House was restricted due to the new construction at 2 Semple Street).   The new lift mechanics were then replaced, followed later on by removal from the rooftop of the old lift components, using a crane situated in a rear laneway.

Before re-commissioning took place, the interior of the lift car was stripped out by the LHPA's tradesmen and then refurbished in keeping with the building's Art-Deco history.
