Work continues on the course and website. My horse, Clutha hasn't helped by havng an abcess which took 3 weeks to locate (finally dug out boxing day), so she has been off work so we havn't ridden as much of the route as we intended over Christmas, in fact we didn't get out! Bless you Clutha, excellent timing as ever.

The farrier & vets have been confirmed. Plans are being drawn up of the venue layout which will be included in the ride information and downloadable from the website. Already started to get enquiries re stabling, which is brilliant. Scary to see that our ride is already open for people to enter online.

New companies have come on board to add to the prizes on offer. We now have vouchers from Brinicombe Equine and Allen & Page. We have also been collecting prizes for horse and rider from local suppliers. Hopefully the weather will be kinder on Sunday so we can ride some of the course.

We were out yesterday riding part of the course to check the route. Beautiful day, great going, lots of hills giving a great training day for us & a challenging route for the ride. Loads of photos taken of the stunning views, this is an area classed as being of outstanding natural beauty, it's easy to see why.

13.04.14

We went to the Exe Riding Club fun ride on Woodbury Common yesterday, starting from one of the car parks. Karen rode Dude around what will form part of our course. Gorgeous day & ride, more of the route tested. Some other EGB members also did the fun ride. Lovely organisers had a caravan & cooked bacon butties for everyone.

20.04.14

Middle part of route checked by horse and on foot. Wonderful tracks, grass or huge (six foot wide) grass verges. Smashing canters, outstanding views despite pouring rain. Things ride organisers go through for the fun of entrants! Great day out, getting really excited about this route, will be challenging but fun, real endurance test.

18.05.14

An excellent meeting with Clinton Estates to get final route approval and sort a few last questions. Only one short section to get final approval from RSPB who manage that common for Clinton Estates. Rosette order done for ride rosettes and placing rosettes for PF / Pairs classes. Venue layout plans done, finally sorted where everyone is going. Starting to seriously trying to recruit helpers for the day, some on board, more needed.

Entries coming in nicely, don't forget if you have any questions you can email us from this website. We check our emails a couple of times each day, so responses are prompt. If you need an urgent reply, ring our mobiles, numbers are in the EGB handbook under ride details.

Anyone who can't ride and would like to help out would be very welcome, we have plenty of jobs needing volunteers. If you would like to find out what goes on at an endurance ride, it is an excellent way to come see what we are about.

Route around Harpford Common finalised with help from Gemma and RSPB (thank you). All distances between checkpoints verified, and posted on here so riders can workout their timings. Final version of map being drawn, will be on here shortly. Ride documents that will be sent out to riders can now be previewd under ride information tab.

30.06.14

Large flood of entries at last minute, well over 100 in total which is brilliant. We will take entries until next Monday, PR classes have no late entry surcharge remember, so the same price. Lots of people camping, should be lovely saturday evening especially with caterer providing food that evening. Will bring some cider from Conrwall.
