'Game' on at The Riverside

The Riverside Restaurant has made it through to the final three places of the 2009 UK's Best Game Dish competition.

Chef Paul O'Malley's
poached & roasted local venison loin with quince, Jerusalem artichokes and venison & foie gras "Charlotte" is pitted against the game dishes of two highly prestigious London restaurants.
Paul says "we have only been operating months, and getting this recognition so early reinforces my belief that offering evening fine dining quality using the best local ingredients but at reasonable prices can be a recipe for success and hopefully will encourage customers to travel from outwith our immediate area".

The competition is sponsored by the "game-to-eat" campaign and the winner will be announced in the November issue of Restaurant magazine.
