Equipment
Unless otherwise notified, access to our lock up garage will also be possible for those staying in the flats.
Referred to by various previous visitors as the 'Treasure Chest' and 'Toy Cupboard' the garage contains a whole range of water sports equipment available for the exclusive use of our guests at no extra charge.
All we ask is that the garage be kept tidy, with kit being treated respectfully and returned free of sand to its appropriate storage position for the next guests use. This arrangement is offered purely on a trust basis and any damage or breakages should be reported to us so that we can arrange repairs as and when necessary so that kit does not suffer further from water ingress etc.
The equipment includes a range of summer and winter wetsuits in virtually all sizes from small children, teenagers and adults with gloves, boots and hoods if required for the cooler times of the year.
Ten body boards, six soft learner surfboards and a range of MiniMal and multifin hard surfboards to suit different abilities are included in the stock. Skim boards for use in the shallow sandy lagoons and nine Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPS) give more options if the surf is small.
Leashes are supplied with all the equipment together with life jackets for use with the paddleboards if required and also some water sports helmets if the waves are large.
A hose and water tub are set just inside the garage door for rinsing out wetsuits after use and a drip dry rail is also just inside if required. The lines in the courtyard at the rear can also be used to dry suits.
On the inside wall of the garage is a simple set of 'housekeeping rules' detailing what to do with wetsuits if they are not dry on departure etc. Essentially the principles of common sense prevail and guests are simply left to take responsibility to ensure that the facilities can remain as nice as possible for the next visitors.
Please remember that although the sea can offer incredible fun it can also be a very dangerous place. Each year it claims many lives often in unexpected ways. Guests should not enter the water unless they have the necessary swimming abiliies and skills to handle the conditions of the day. Lifeguarded sections operate in the spring summer and autumn months and if in doubt talk to them and they will give helpful guidance on where is safest to enter the water.
It is taken as read that use of equipment is entirely at the discretion of our guests and at their own risk and we cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries that may arise as a consequence of the voluntary use of the equipment that is made available.
