The Beaches

The golden sandy beaches of St Ives Bay are a short distance from the flats and the choice of beach will generally depend on the state of the tide. At low tide one can walk along the sand from one end of the bay at Hayle to the other at Gwithian. At high tide the sea comes up to the granite cliffs and the coastal path has to be used in certain sections.
