RAF Cardington Youth Selection
This is the RAF station where between the wars Airships were based and serviced and then scrapped, this is also the RAF station where in the 50's and 60's young oiks of 15 years old were based, serviced then scrapped No I jest, we were herded here and went through several rigorous tests to discover our talents and qualities before deciding what 'Trade' we were allocated.
To give the reader some background to this extremely technical and successful process - as an example - those with electrical engineering went as Clerks; those with obvious administration skills would be sent to learn the art of cooking. Ah! the British Military at its best!
