Great Golf last weekendby Unknown - 09:55 on 17 June 2010Last weekend saw some fantastic golf at the Club Championship. Tom McLevy put together three consecutive 67s to take a slender lead into the final round. He was accompanied by Murray Gollan and Colin Milne. Standing on the 18th tee, having played 71 holes of medal golf, all three were level!
A small crowd watched as all three hit the green. Colin's birdie putt lipped out. Murray holed his 12 foot down hiller for birdie, and from about 8 foot Tom followed him him!
Murray had covered the last 9 holes in 30. The pair will now embark in a 18 hole play off on the 7th August . We congratulate them both.
They were not alone in putting together some great golf , with Steve Carruthers puttting together a final round 66, Willie Hutton playing all 4 rounds to a consistently high standard and Mark Winton with a final round 69. Great credit to Mike Niven who ensured he protected his lead from yours truly for 7th place! Alan McDonald deserves great credit for winning the Handicap Club Championship and playing the final two rounds of the scratch with some great golf.
