A Great Start to the seasonby Unknown - 12:10 on 22 March 2010The 2010 Season got off to a great start with the Captain vs Vice Captain match. The sun shone on the 100 eager golfers who met in the clubhouse for the customary draw for tees. The luck finally ran out for Sandy Stirton.. as he drew the 6th Tee.
The tactical battle of team selection was vindicated as the Captain's team narrowly defeated the Vice by a score of 32 holes to 31 holes. The Vice and his partner Willy Hutton were too strong for the Capt and his mercurial Pro who delivered eagles, birdies and bogeys almost in equal measure.
Richard Drummond and his team delivered a fantastic spread and provided it free of charge to players. This year there was plenty of Steak Pie!
After dinner Peter C Brown delivered as professional a performance as the Scotland rugby team.
Congratulations to Keith Walker and Malcolm Campbell for two tremendous individual scores.
A great start to the season!
