Planning Permission Refused by Tewkesbury BC
Thoughtful Council at Tewkesbury
The Planning Committee of Tewkesbury Borough Council met on Tuesday 2nd February 2010. They decided to refuse planning permission for National Grid to build the pressure reduction installation at Tirley.
This report, mentioned in the CAPRI Newsletter No. 37 (see our LIBRARY for full copy), is an eye opener for residents in the area covered by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council who allowed a PRI to be built near the village of Cilfrew, near Neath. Tewkesbury Borough Council, on the other hand, put the interests and safety of residents before any commercial considerations.
The decision came before news of the Connecticut gas explosion. Now, with hindsight, they can see they did a wise thing.
We wonder what is going to happen next?
