Scrap Book Photos

Every picture tells a story,  Many photographs on this page show what residents of Cilfrew had to put up with when the Pressure Reducing Plant was being built near their village   At the date of writing (July 2009) it is not operational - but the question is: 'Will they live in fear when it is - and for  years to come?'

The LNG pipeline coming in to Cilfrew over March Hywel mountain from Fforest Goch.

One lorry that failed to make it through the narrow lanes in Cilfrew and had to turn back.

Gelli Onen Mountain Trebanos where they brought the pipeline in... one of the most horrendous slopes inn the whole of the LNG pipeline... trees were decimated and the ground is destabilised for life in a land slip area.

The young and the old protest at Cilfrew - it took 2 weeks of road walking before the lorries were brought over the mountain road from Crynant and the main A465. Something we were told was impossible by National Grid until we walked the road. So 2 schools and over 1000 pupils had protection from the horrendous traffic that was brought into Cilfrew to build the pressure reduction station.

A pipe at Cilfrew before it was inserted in the ground,

Before the gas plant - what we lost here in Cilfrew - one of the best beauty spots in the whole of the world destroyed for National Grid to make a profit.

Hoggs Dingle.... Penpont in Brecon which saw the biggest police presence on any protest on the LNG pipeline..... they were removed by force
