SPEYSIDE 2006 REPORT

Another dismal event!

Got the car all kitted up on Friday and off to Saturday scrutineering with high hopes of taking it steady throughout the day and getting a finish.

Not to be! After 2 acceptable runs through a very waterlogged Cooper Park the right front wheel nuts sheered on the road section to the first service at Troves. With 3 of the studs broken in the hub it was game over on the spot.

Not quite got to the bottom of why this should have happened, but very disappointing after all of the hard work done to the car after the accident on the Scottish. We will learn from it and move on, and with our next event now being the McRae stages at the end of September we have plenty time to try and iron out any other possible niggles before then.

Last event of our season is the MacRae Stages on the 30th of September, and here’s hoping we get more than 1.4 stage miles for our troubles!
