BORDERS 2010 REPORT

The Macritchie Highland Distribution backed NessRallySport Team of Don Murray and Andy Philip started their 2010 campaign on the Border Counties Rally based in Jedburgh last Saturday. They were out for the first time in their left hand drive ‘Bugeye’ Impreza acquired last January, but it was not to be a happy debut.

Don said;-

“I bought the car in Ireland last year and used it as a hire car. My intention was to have another car to use for this event, so had already hired out the Impreza we used last year. I then found myself with the choice of using the left hand drive car or not making this event, so we thought we would give it a go. Wrong choice! I simply couldn’t get any sense of where we were on the road, and that’s decidedly dangerous on a loose surface in a 300 bhp car with everything on the wrong side. We did two stages, agreed that neither of us was having fun, so decided to park it up before we did some damage to the car or ourselves’.

The team has decided that they will not be using this car again this season, and plans are already in place to have another car ready in time for their next event, the Granite City Rally in Aberdeen on the 17th of April. The team would like thank their sponsors, Ness Properties, Signed Graphics, Rallyimages and Macritchie Highland Distribution for their financial support, and to Tim Finch Rallyesport of Carlisle for their car preparation skills.
