SNOWMAN 2007 REPORT

The Nessrallysport team’s debut of their new 4wd Mitsubishi Evo came to a premature end on the very first stage of the rally. The release bearing on the clutch disintegrated with just over a mile of the first test left and the crew were left stranded in the stage.
Don said;-
“It was hugely disappointing to have this happen on our first outing, and so early in the day, however if it had to happen than at least we were close to home! The car has been rallied before we got it, and you never know what stresses and strains it’s been under, until something fails. The good news is that it handles superbly well, and has great grip and traction, so we look forward to getting it fixed and competing again.”
The car was competing with support from Inverness businesses M and M Auto Repairs, Macritchie Highland Distribution, Ness Properties and Signed Graphics of Forres.
In light of this set back and the added costs now involved in getting the car back on the road again the next planned outing will be the Multiwage Granite City Rally in Aberdeen on the 28th of April.
The Arnold Clark – Thistle Hotels Snowman Rally was based in Inverness and ran on the 17th of February, 2007. This event was the opening round of the County Saab Scottish Rally Championship.
