Theresa May Speaks Out

To keep this website balanced, and to show we have bo political bias, we publish Theresa May's speech at the Conservative Party Conference.  Hopefully. this will be useful for shift workers and others who may have missed it.

It should be noted that Theresa May supports the NHS and for personal reasons too because she is a type 1 diabetic, which means she has to inject herself with insulin several times a day.  Only those who have this type of diabetes,  or who live with someone who has it, knows the problem of keeping blood sugar at the right level.

This apart, we would like to have your reactions on the Prime Minister's speech on our twitter page.

More about diabetes

Let us take this opportunity to explain about diabetes.

Diabetes mellitus (DM), commonly referred to as diabetes, is a group of metabolic disorders in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period] Symptoms of high blood sugar include frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger.  If left untreated, diabetes can cause many complications.  Acute complications can include diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state, or death.  Serious long-term complications include cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic kidney disease, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes.

Diabetes is due to either the pancreas not producing enough insulin, or the cells of the body not responding properly to the insulin produced.
