Parking problems are increasing

£20 for a permit to park your car on the road outside your house

Marked residential parking areas are increasing in an effort to control on-road parking and as an inncentive for residents to use their garages and drive-ways.

Residential permits issued by Neath Port Talbot Council cost £20 - and that is for one car.

In some areas of Neath it is difficult to pass on-coming traffic as in Harle Street where two county councillors live.

The Fire Bridgade and Ambulance Services are finding it increasingly difficult to attend to emergencies in some areas and this is made worse when a vehicle is parked over a fire hydrant.

Some residents seem unaware that it is an offense to park the wrong way at night, that is, with rear reflectors facing the wrong way.
