South Wales High Pressure Gas Pipeline

 + Concern over responsibility of the South Wales Gas Pipeline

A reader has made a worrying comment about responsiibilites of the South Wales Gas pipeline.   Its on our doorstep with a pressure reducing plant at Cilfrew.

Checks on the Internet reveal that there has been much wheeling and dealing since the pipeline was built and if there was a disaster or major incident it would be difficult to pin the blame.   Indeed a legal case could go on for years - so it seems,

Our Welsh Assembly should look into this before anything happens and find out where the buck stops.

The pipeline has the highest pressure (94 Bar) of any pipeline in the world and its route has been subject to earth tremours.

+  Residents living near the pipeline, and especially the pressure reducing plant at Cilfrew, have the right to know what to expect if the pipeline ruptured, bearing in mind the pipeline will deteriate with age.
