Unpleasant train jouney
Unpleasant rail journey
A reader writes about the new rail coaches coming into service:
"I recently had the misfortune to travel thankfully, only from Cardiff to Neath and the experience was anything but pleasant.
The seats are very upright and the cushions so thin that after a short while you would believe you were sitting on a wooden plank.
Certainly the carriage I was sat in was noticeably noisier than the old inter city 125 and had bright garish lighting.
Also, the armrests are hard plastic and unless you possess a good layer of flesh are very uncomfortable.
All in all therefore, these trains are built to a price and speaking personally, take us a step backwards in train travel."
