Where should this country spend money?
Parliament is due to vote on whether to go ahead with building replacements for the UK's Vanguard fleet of four submarines carrying Trident nuclear missiles. The subs are due to become obsolete by the end of the next decade.
In the meantime other countries are improving their roads and infrastructure. When you travel abroad you can see the difference, roads with no pot-holes and grass and hedges nicely cut. See for yourself on YOUTUBE videos, including the ones on this website.
It reminds us of the tortoise who developed such a thick shell to protect itself it became too slow to move.
