The Neath Doc

A documentary of Neath for schools and colleges - and residents

A website now in the course of construction will be a valuable source of information for schools and colleges in the UK.

It will feature Neath videos of the Roman and Victorian era in addition to more recent times.

Also in the pipeline is a documentary video of the Castle Hotel, which. we understand, will be shortly be under new ownership.

The Castle Hotel is said to be the most haunted building in Neath and has had many famous guests including Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton.   Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor were also often guests at the hotel.   The video will show the interior and the rooms they occupied.    Robert  King, the Neath historian, gives a conducted tour and explains how stage coaches entered the hotel courtyard.

The website will include a full feature film: 'That Hamilton Woman' (1941) starring Vivien Leigh.    The film, which is 1hr 59min long, can be expanded to full screen size for family viewing.
