M&S to leave Neath

Notice has been given that Marks & Spencer is to close 60 of its high street stores.   Inside information reveals that the Neath store is being considered for closure

For many years attempts have been made to get a M&S store at Port Talbot but the firm, in the past, would only consider freehold properties.   In addition to that, Neath was considered a better catchment location for shoppers with the Neath valley towns in mind.

The fact that Neath is apparently doing nothing to attract shoppers means that the Neath store is not getting the trade it once had.
