Windmills

Windmills on my mind

Windmills or should I say Turbines all 72 of them to be erected on Pen y Cymoedd wind energy project between Rhondda Cynon Taff and Neath Port Talbot

Pen y Cymoedd wind farm is above Craig Y Lllyn on the road leading over to the Rhondda Valley

I was invited to photograph the large turbines being erected, it is a massive undertaking, as each blade is 55 metres long

I was asked to go along with Emily Faull, Vattenfall’s local project officer for the Pen y Cymoedd wind energy farm on July 22nd it was awe inspiring to see how big this project is,

At this moment in time they are  about half way only another 40 to go plus the power sub stations which are on site and on the Craig y Llyn road

The power will be distributed throughout the Rhondda Cynon Taf and Neath Port Talbot areas when operational early 2017

The Video features Emily Faull Vattenfall’s local project office  at the beginning of the film
