Residents voting by post in the EU Referenum have now received their voting papers
On the reverse side is an indentifcation number, as is normal for ALL voting papers for any election. This number can be cross checked (if need be) against the person it was issued to.
This means your vote can be traced back to you - if the need arose.
Can our voting system be therefore called a secret ballot?
