LITTER - Councillor seeks support

A NPT Councillor seeks support with his efforts

A Neath councillor has written in (see Readers Letters) and has revealed his concern about litter.    He would like some positive reaction to his aims.

For everyone's information, the Bryncoch Environment Group (BEG) does litter picks in the Bryncoch area - see their website.

They have reported, however, that their litter picking activities EXCLUDE the Tesco Express shopping area at Waunceirch for the simple reason that they consider that unfair advantage is taken of them.

It is a fact that every business in that area pays a maintenance charge (to the developer?) for keeping the area clean and tidy.
One business owner alleges that Tesco are not paying their share and have not done so for a number of years.  No-one at Tesco was available to comment on this allegation.

If this is correct, it should be sorted out by the powers that be (relevant councillors included) in order to have a cleaner environment.

It is about time councillors led the way, so lets hope we will see positive results.   Let's support any councillor who goes that one mile further to get things done.
