Eye Sore behind Queen Street

Road from Rail Station to Bus Station is an EYE SORE

A highly respected former manager of a Queen Street store has written to us with his views on the back road, known to many as Queen Street Back Lane.   This is a much used route for travellers   switching from train to the local bus station at Victoria Gardens.

This is simply an eye sore and a disgrace to Neath - what a view for visitors to Neath!  It is also a well used taxi route - with two taxi ranks in the lane.

Peacocks HQ (the back of their store is pictured above) was contacted yesterday by one of our team and it transpires that they do not own the building but are leasing it - the owner is not known.   When it was Times Furnishing it belonged to Great Univeral Stores.    Moves are now being made to find out the landowner and report the eyesore condition.

Ed Note.... Do you think Neath shop keepers take a pride in their premises as they did in the past?  What can the council do to improve the EYE SORE of Queen Back Road?   Send in your views to READERS LETTERS.
