Traffic Camera Van causes obstruction in accident

An accident on Pen-y-wern Hill on 30th January was not helped by a near-by Traffic Camera Van, who instead of packing up and moving out of the way continued to take photographs of cars using the road.
This website has long said that this part of the road is an accident black spot.   We now say that camera vans should not be used at this spot.

One reader said that the presence of the camera van could have very well put drivers off and contributed to the accident.   Anyone who witnessed the  occurance is invited to comment on our READERS LETTERS page.

Above is a photograph we previously published.   Road markings were added a few days after our report - but it is still an accident BLACK SPOT.   More accidents will happen until this junction is sorted out.
