Local Development Plan News

Head of Planning writes.....

I write to inform you that following receipt of the Inspectors’ Report and consideration of its content and recommendations, the Council at its meeting on the 27th January 2016, resolved to adopt the Neath Port Talbot Local Development Plan (LDP) (2011-2026).

The LDP became operative on its adoption (i.e. 27th January 2016) and is now the development plan for Neath Port Talbot providing a basis for decisions on land use planning in the County Borough.

The LDP, along with the Council’s Adoption Statement, Sustainability Appraisal Report and other associated documents are available to view or download from the Council’s website at www.npt.gov.uk/ldp and printed copies will also be available for public inspection during normal opening hours at each of the Civic Centres and at any of the libraries across the County Borough.

It should be noted that the adopted LDP is currently available in basic form pending production of the final document. A final printed copy will be provided to necessary consultees once available.

Anyone who wishes to challenge the validity of the LDP on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by Part 6 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 or that any requirement of the Act or regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the adoption of the LDP, may within six weeks from 8th February 2016, make an application to the High Court under Section 113 of the 2004 Act.

If you would like the information in this letter in another language or format, or if you would like further information, then please contact the LDP team either by e-mail on ldp@npt.gov.uk or by phone on (01639) 686821.
