Reader states his objection to demolition

Reader tells us his objection to demolition

"I have submitted successfully an objection to the town development plan, including the objection of the Greyhound Tavern being demolished as well the demolition of the magistrates court.

The reasons given are as follows:  The Greyhound Tavern is an historical and popular venue for the town which should not be destroyed.  The future generations of Neath will not thank you for destroying the historical town also the East Gate of the town, which was still standing until 1840, also that part of the town ran along the side of Tesco.

The reason for the objection to the Magistrates Court are based on practical reasons - not money saving exercises.  Clients will have to travel to Swansea (plus their families), which is difficult if you have to rely on public transport.   Also the police and lawyers will have to get there and back.

Finally there should be a covered walkway to the market or some sort of transport made for customers."

Ed Note...  Objections should reach the NPT CBC Planning Office by 15th October 2013.
