Neath Planners lack vision

Planners lack vision with Neath town centre plan

Readers write.... plus comment

Readers (letters page) have come to the conclusion that those associated with the planning of the Neath town centre lack vision on what could be a glorious heritage town that would attract visitors from all over the country.

The residents of Neath appear to know what is best for the town but no-one appears to be listening.

This website comes out on top simply because it expresses the views of the residents - those who live in the town and want to see it thrive.   They want a town they can be proud of.

Currently there is only talk of demolition and no feedback from planners or the council.   As far as councillors are concerned, they appear no wiser as they seem to be given the mushroom treatment - being kept in the dark.

Hay-on-wye has been mentioned as a town of character - a town known for books.    Neath could likewise be known for its heritage and Victorian memorabilia.   Antique shops are always a great attraction.   How many has Neath got?

"If you want anything - they have got it in Neath"   - that should be the solgan for the town.   Let's refurbish the market (its been done before) in a way that keeps its character.   Let's have some enthusiasm with the assets we already have.  Let's make Neath a great clean town.  That is what residents want.

Quote from the Urban Dictionary:

We feel sure that Neath Ferret readers will say:  "If the cap fits - wear it!"
