Are you diabetic and don't know it?

The news that MP Theresa May is a type 1 diabetic has  made many people aware of the condition.   News reports claim that over a million people in the UK are diabetic and don't know it.

What are the symptoms and signs that may indicate that a person needs medical advice?
The Neath Guardian website has a helpful page on this, but briefly if you have a feeling of tiredness and a continuous thirst - wanting to drink a lot, then it may be indication that it could be a form of diabetes.  Seeing your doctor and having a simple test will put your mind at rest.
