Getting the facts right
It seems many people are unclear about how the Waunceirch Owain Glyndwr Community centre was built and where the money came from. To get the record right we are going to ask someone involved with the project.
Until then here are two reminders about the building - the plaque in the entrance hall and the sign, as it was, outside the building.
After the sign was vandalised the then Labour controlled community council decided to change the name to that of the area and to conform to all its centres. It would appear that it was a bad decision because of another hall close-by having a similar name - this was highlighted when an ambulance went to the wrong one.
The official opening of the Owain Glyndwr Community Centre was on 17th June 2005 as shown on the above plaque.
