Postal Review Panel Rejection

Postal Review Panel rejects need for a post collection box at Waunceirch

On the day that the privatisation of the Royal Mail was announced, the Postal Review Panel rejected the need for a mail collection box at the Waunceirch shops.    This is despite the fact that hundreds of houses have been built by various developers during the last two decades on elevated ground.   The Post Office confirm that no new post box has been installed in the area for over fifty years.   "Hardly encouragement to use the postal service," say many residents.

The campaign for a mail collection box is still on-going and many think that with privatisation a possible postal competitor may have more consideration for the many elderly residents living in the area.
