Demand for Eye Impact Road Signs
Growing concern about speed of traffic
Standard road signs and road markings are being ignored by motorists and road humps are not the answer because they present an environmental road hazard, especially when motor cyclists swerve in front of a car to avoid them.
Research has proved that EYE IMPACT signs are the answer - that is, signs that draw attention to the speed that cars are travelling (example shown right).
Councillors are urged to arrange to have these signs put up where speed is a problem, remembering that the cost is less than that of a life.
BBC News today: Drivers will face on the spot fines for 'tail-gateing', centre line hogging and increased penalties for not wearing a seat belt.
