Taxi to post letter!

Taxi required to post a letter!

Following on from our news item about a Royal Mail collection box being required at the top of a hill at Waunceirch, a reader writes in about someone at Cadoxton having to have a taxi to post a letter.   The closing of certain Post Offices has certainly not helped matters.

It is a fact that new housing developments have NOT been catered for by the Post Office.  It is rather surprising that our councillors have not pursued this with the energy they seem to have at election times.   There is a definate need for post collection boxes, at least at focal points:  community centres, shopping centres and schools where parents take and collect their children.   At Waunceirch these are all in close proximity - but no post collection box!

One reader tells us that he has just written to the chief executive at Tesco in order to have an in-store  collection box at their Waunceirch Express store - maybe more should write - every little helps!   As for other areas, the Post Office should be reminded time and time again about the situation - and perhaps our councillors should say something too!
