Councillor highlights need for new web page

Councillor inspires the need for a new Questions & Answers web page

County Councillor Alan Lockyer has illustrated the need for the forthcoming new 'Questions to Councillors' web page.    He has kindly written to reader Terry Griffiths about the dead tree in Angel Square - but no-one, except Mr Griffiths, knows what has been said, or what is happening.

This is despite many readers taking an interest of what has been reported in these columns.  We are aware of other readers writing to Cllr Lockyer about this and having no reply to date.

The forthcoming web page will endeavour to make the public aware of the questions asked and the answers given.  As previously mentioned, it will make community matters more open and transparent.

In the meantime we look forward to knowing more about this tree saga which is still not settled as far as other readers are concerned.

You can read the letter from Terry Griffiths on our Readers Letters page - from which we quote an extract:-

'.......the tree was an indicator of the state of mind of our officers and councillors towards the town, a dead tree here, some litter there chewing gum on paving, what does it matter?
Well, it matters to me and to so many people who write letters to this site......'
