A welcome for Heritage Scene at Caewern House

Caewern House welcomes Heritage Scene - Neath

A start to record Neath heritage combined with audio an video memories of the past was made at Caewern house earlier today.

The informal session, the first of a series, was arranged by Jason Reynolds, one of the Heritage Scene - Neath co-ordinators.

Included in the group photograph (right) is Cllr Janice Dudley who represents Bryncoch South and is working closely with the heritage team.

Refreshments were kindly provided by the staff and were much appreciated by the heritage group.

The heritage recordings were done in conjunction with Buffoon Film and Media (Port Talbot).

The LDP is for up to 22 houses to be built in the grounds of this property.  It is hoped that Caewern house itself will remain.   It is understood that the Gwalia Group is now handling all matters relating to Caewern House and the former residents.   The photo below has been taken from one of the NPT Council's websites.

Breaking News
During the session, reported above, news came through that Caewern House (the building) has been saved and would be preserved within the LDP.    This is yet to confirmed through official sources and the NPT website. More news about the Gwalia development will be published in due course when more information has been given to us.
