Llwyn Helyg - eyesore.

Youth nuisance at Neath Eye Sore

The Waterstones development at Llwyn Helyg, better known as 'White's Folly' at the ridge top site at Waunceirch, near the Tesco Express, is acknowledged as one of Neath's biggest eye sores.

The 38 high pitched roof houses are built adjacent to the single story junior school and single story shops.   Now there is a problem with youngsters gathering at night in an alley-way opposite the school.   The local PCSO's have been informed about the nuisance problem and the local councillor has been asked to look at the matter.

Residents are asking if the alley-way can be blocked off and used by residents only.  If this were done it could present a problem to those using the alley as a short cut to the shops and to parents taking their children to school.

The red arrow in the above artists view of the Neath eye sore shows the location of the alley way leading to the school.

The green arrow is a proposed short cut from Fernlea Park to the shops, thus avoiding residents walking through the eye-sore housing site.    This was proposed to the councillors of the area when the houses were been built - but nothing appears to have been done about it.
