Who are the 'don't knows'?

The good, the bad and the..... don't knows?

We feel that there is an unfair tendency to tar all councillors with the same brush and say that they are all on a gravy train.   We say 'unfair' because there are councillors who are doing their best for their community.   There are councillors who have strong sympathic feelings for those they represent.

We must give credit where due - to the councillors who write in with information and the ones who respond to readers letters.   Some write in knowing that they are putting themselves in the firing line.   This takes guts and courage and makes them stand out from the rest.

There are readers who say that so they should - but it is only fair to compare them with the  councillors who say and do nothing.    The big question is, do the councillors who write nothing have the ability to write anything?    There are some serious doubts about some councillors and their ability to communicate.

There are those who say that before becoming a councillor one should at least have the ability to send and receive emails.   We have to agree with this view point.

We have heard that there is a top front line councillor who does not know how to switch a computer on - but he has others to do it for him!   To our mind, this is not good enough.

To sum up. those councillors who write in to us indicate that they may be a step ahead from those we hear nothing.   So as we said, please don't tar them all with the same brush - give some the respect they deserve.      Oh yes, we must also remember to never shoot the messenger!
