Gwyn Hall forgotten?

No Christmas Show for the Gwyn Hall?

This year the Mayor's charity show is to take place at the Princess Theatre Aberavon on Sunday, 2nd December.   It just seems a pity the the newly refurbished Gwyn Hall (pictured right), opened earlier this year, seems to be forgotten about.

There have been many comments, by those who take notice, that the Mayor of the Borough gets more engagements in Port Talbot.   Even on Remembrance Sunday it was noted that he appeared in Port Talbot.    Let us make it clear, it is not the Mayor's decision - his engagements are made for him.

Being a Neath man, with his home in Longford, his heart is in Neath - Cllr Mayor Martyn Peters  wants to do as much as possible for his home town.     However, being loyal to his office he has to follow the schedule planned for him

A Christmas Charity Show at the Gwyn Hall would have been rather nice for the first Christmas since the building's refurbishment - and for the Mayor in his home town.  It just seems sad that this building appears to be forgotten, despite the fact it cost many millions to rebuild after the fire which burnt it to the ground.    It is risen from the ashes - but with no Christmas bells to celebrate.

PS   It has been noted that the Council's entertainment and function websites have NOT been updated and that there are no details at the present time about shows in December.
