Stead & Simpson follow Dorothy Perkins and Burtons

After 150 years Stead & Simpson are moving out of Neath - who is next?    Some suggestions have been made on our Reader's Letters page to improve the situation - but it seems that no one is listening.   One bright spot is that a new Welsh Produce stall has come to Neath Market - so least someone is prepared to have a go.

One reader writes: -  "A pound spent in a locally owned business generates more community benefit than a pound spent in a national chain. In other words, spend a pound in the Market in Neath and more of your money benefits Neath than if you spent a pound in Morrisons or Tesco."   
We believe these are wise words.   We have already proved that many items are cheaper in Neath Market than they are in the big supermarkets.
Dare we ask where our councillors do their shopping?  If we don't support Neath Market and Neath Traders then we not supporting the future of the town.
