Town Suggestions from readers

We believe we are getting better suggestions for Neath posted on our Reader's Letters page than what we heard at the Neath Town Centre Consortium sessions.

One letter suggestions putting units into the empty Burtons shop that could be used by local arts and crafts people.  Another suggestion is to use the empty Dorothy Perkins shop as an information centre until another use is found for it.

Yet another letter suggests the NPT council give more help and encouragement to stall holders to get started.

An earler letter suggested that MacDonalds be invited into the town centre.   Whether you are a fan of this firm, or not, it has to be said that they take a pride in their premises and surroundings.   Such ventures in other town centres have proved to be very successful.   Sometimes council officials have to out and make approaches to firms, rather that wait for firms to approach the council.   What we want is a celebrity ambassador for Neath - it is up to our council officials to find one - unless we get an offer from someone writing to our letters page!
