Resident writes to council

Round Table Event Annoys Residents

A Longford resident has written to the Chief Executive of NPT CBC and says that, like many other residents, he is fed up with noise, fireworks and everything else that takes place on the Cwrt Herbert playing fields when special events are held there - the most recent one being the Neath Round Table July event.   In a two page letter, the resident made clear his feelings on the matter and summed it up by saying:-
"We are now fed up with the attitude and action taken by the cretins employed in these departments that allow this event to take place and want them replaced with people who have the competency to do the job correctly. The only other way around this situation is to either put it on at the Gnoll grounds or in Margam park. Where there are no residents for it to annoy."
Your comments are invited on this, especially as the adjacent main road is probably now more busy than ever before and the recent alterations to the Roman Way Banana Island is not helping matters.

The resident claims that approaches to the organisers have not got anywhere - hence his letter to the Chief Executive of the Council.

Follow-up   It can be revealed that the resident referred to above has no intention of giving up untll the matter is resolved to the satisfaction of all the residents living in the area.  His plan of action includes the attempt to revoke the alcohol licence granted for the event.   Watch this space for further news.
